The neighborhood Thanksgiving party was going pretty well until you keeled over and died.
Now you're a ghost, and you're going to figure out who killed you. But you can't exactly interview people or search for clues when you're dead, can you? All you can do is piece together memories about what happened.
No one said the memories had to be yours.
Erstwhile is written by Aster (formerly Maddie) Fialla and Marijke Perry. It placed 5th in IFComp 2018 [2018 results on IFComp website] and won Best Individual Puzzle in the XYZZY Awards for the same year.

Hi! I just wanted to say that while I was catching up with the years of the IF Comp that I missed, I played this today and absolutely loved it. It was SUCH a good game, and as for the secondary mystery, I feel like I picked up on most of it--that was an interesting mechanic too! Thank you for making it. It's actually one of my favorites of the last few years of IF Comp games I've played so far. :)
